This picture represents an extended exposure of about 3 minutes duration. I had my camera mounted on a tripod pointing at the horizon while a storm occurred in the distance. The storm was pretty far off because I could not hear any thunder (though it may have been obscured by the breaking waves in front of me). During the time of exposure, lightning struck on several occasions and these were recorded on 'film' as if by multiple exposures. Because of the long exposure time, the breaking waves of the ocean blend into a creamy green band. Also, floating yellow buoys are distorted as they are bobbed by waves. The Nice airport is in the center of the storm, and the bright blobs of light between the horizon and the clouds are aircraft coming in for a landing.
