This picture represents an extended exposure of about 20 seconds duration. I had my camera mounted on a tripod pointing at the horizon while a storm occurred in the distance. The storm was pretty far off because Icould not hear any thunder (though it may have been obscured by the breaking wave). Duringthe time of exposure, lightning struck and was recorded. The Nice airport is in the center of the storm, andthe bright blob of light between the horizon and the clouds is anaircraft coming in for a landing.
